Located
in The Grand Summit Hotel, The HAT Tavern is South Florida Celebrity
Chef Tony Sindaco’s latest new concept, scheduled to open in
January of 2011. Sindaco,
former Chef and Owner of Fort Lauderdale’s critically acclaimed
Sunfish Grill, has developed an exciting new menu for the HAT
Tavern, concentrating on the perfect hamburger.
The name HAT captures
the rich history of the hotel as the original owner’s name
HATT was immortalized in brick on the front façade of hotel. The
subsequent owner, real estate magnate, Harry A. Taylor, chopped
out one of the T’s to leave his initials, H.A.T, still
noticeable today. The HAT Tavern concept
invokes the hotel’s long history of having the area’s most popular
bar and gathering place.
The menu includes “La Frieda” blend, naturally raised and hormone
free, graded USDA Choice Prime specialty burgers, a large selection
of tapas and salads and “Jersey Fresh” locally grown foods. The
drink selection is extensive with ales from all over the country
and wines sourced from the most select vineyards. And for the young
at heart, milkshakes, Boylan’s soda floats and Jersey shore fries.
